Andrew Grams begins his one-year tenure as the Resident Conductor of the Florida Orchestra this season where he will conduct the entire Coffee Concerts series as well as education, parks, and other community concerts.

Maestro Grams has just completed his three-year term as Assistant Conductor of The Cleveland Orchestra/American Symphony Orchestra League Conducting Fellow having been appointed to that post by Franz Welser-Möst in June, 2004. As Assistant Conductor in Cleveland, Mr. Grams assisted Mr. Welser-Möst, and conducted subscription concerts, tour concerts, educationalmore concerts and summer events with the Cleveland Orchestra.

Mr. Grams made his first subscription series appearance with the Cleveland Orchestra in May, 2006 conducting Schoenberg’s Second Chamber Symphony and will present his first series of full-length subscription concerts with the Cleveland Orchestra in November, 2006.

He led programs with the orchestra at the Blossom Music Center in 2006 and 2007 as well as at the new Miami Performing Arts Center in the winter of 2006/07.

As guest conductor, Mr. Grams has made subscription concert appearances with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and has also worked with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Forth Worth Symphony Orchestra, the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, the Jacksonville (FL) Symphony, the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, and the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra.

Grams makes his Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Baltimore Symphony Orchestra debuts this season
