Please note that scholarship applications will NOT be accepted over the phone.

The San Antonio Symphony recognizes that transportation costs and the price of admission are significant obstacles schools face in order to benefit from our educational programs. The Symphony addresses these problems by providing over $100,000 in scholarship funding to public schools each year, thanks to our generous donors listed below. Ticket scholarships to Young People’s Concerts (YPCs) can cover up to 100% of the cost of concert admission. In addition, partial transportation scholarships can help to offset the rising cost of bus transportation to and from the concert.

Scholarships by application are available to all PUBLIC SCHOOLS and ACCREDITED PRIVATE SCHOOLS in Bexar County and the surrounding area. Funds may be used to cover 100% of the cost of admission for up to TWO YPC PERFORMANCES during the season for each student OR to help pay for SEASON TICKETS to the YPCs.

If awarded a ticket scholarship, the remaining cost for season tickets would be only $5 per student, or $1.25 per concert. Please note, all students DO NOT have to attend the same concert using the scholarship (i.e. the Fourth grade classes attend a Tuesday concert and the Fifth grade classes attend a Wednesday concert. OR Fourth grade attends in November and early May while Fifth grade attends in March and late May, etc.)

Schools with Title I status for the most recent school year will receive preferential consideration with regard to ticket scholarship, but any school may apply.

Transportation funding will be allocated to schools on a first come, first serve basis. All transportation scholarship funding will be issued as a reimbursement or partial reimbursement after the concert date and upon receipt of proof of the total cost. For schools in the NISD, SAISD, SWISD and JISD, TRANSPORTATION SCHOLARSHIP will be awarded through your school district. Call the number below for more information.
