Young People’s Concert Series 2013-2014: The Scientific Symphony
Ticket and Transportation Scholarship Order Form
Please note that scholarship applications will NOT be accepted over the phone.
The San Antonio Symphony recognizes that transportation costs and the price for admission are significant obstacles schools face in order to benefit from our educational programs. The Symphony addresses these problems by providing over $100,000 in scholarship funding to public schools each year, thanks to our generous donors. Scholarships cover 100% of the cost of tickets and also partial transportation costs to Young People’s Concerts for low-income and Title 1 schools, and many other schools that otherwise would not be able to attend.
Scholarships are available to PUBLIC SCHOOLS and ACCREDITED PRIVATE SCHOOLS in the Bexar County area only. Funds may be used to cover 100% of ticket costs for up to TWO YPC PERFORMANCES during the season for each student OR to help pay for SEASON TICKETS to the YPCs.
If awarded a ticket scholarship, the remaining cost for season tickets would be only $4 per student, or $1 per concert. Please note, all students DO NOT have to attend the same concert using the scholarship (i.e. the Fourth grade classes attend a Tuesday concert and the Fifth grade classes attend a Wednesday concert. OR Fourth grade attends in November and February while Fifth grade attends in January and May, etc.)
Schools with Title I status for the most recent school year will receive preferential consideration with regard to ticket scholarship, but any school may apply.
For schools in the NISD, SAISD and JISD, TRANSPORTATION SCHOLARSHIP will be awarded through your school district. For all other schools, transportation funding will be disbursed on a first come, first serve basis.
