Instrument Petting Zoo



Every season, Symphony musicians put on an Instrument Petting Zoo (IPZ) for kids starting an hour before each of our four Family Series concerts. The Zoo’s offer a unique opportunity for children of all ages to try out and play a variety of orchestral instruments under the guidance of master musicians. No additional charge is made for entrance to the IPZ and other musical crafts beyond the cost of tickets to the same day’s Family Concert. (For more information about Family Concerts, please see the link to the left.) This October, we will offer an additional free-admission IPZ as part of the Brackenridge Park Jazz Family Showcase. Please see the dates and times below:

Sunday, October 23, 2011; 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm @ Sunday in Brackenridge Park: Jazz Family Showcase. IPZ will be located in the Tuesday Musical Club building.

Sunday, October 30, 2011; 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm @ Trinity University’s Laurie Auditorium (lobby). Family Concert: Halloween Spooktacular!

Sunday, December 18, 2011; 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm @ Trinity University’s Laurie Auditorium (lobby). Family Concert: Family Holiday Celebration.

Sunday, February 26, 2012; 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm @ Trinity University’s Laurie Auditorium (lobby). Family Concert: YOSA Side-by-Side: Fiesta in February.

Sunday, May 20, 2012; 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm @ Trinity University’s Laurie Auditorium (lobby). Family Concert: Paint to Music – Tall Tales – Music Inspired by Stories.
