Hailed by Allan Kozinn in the New York Times as giving “a magnificent performance: precise, passionate, and supple,” horn player Molly Norcross joined the San Antonio Symphony as Third/Associate Principal Horn in December 2012.
Ms. Norcross received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from The Juilliard School, and pursued additional professional studies at the New England Conservatory, studying with William Purvis, Jennifer Montone and Richard Sebring, respectively. She has performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Naples Philharmonic, New World Symphony, Rhode Island Philharmonic, and Richmond Symphony.
Ms. Norcross was a Fellow at the Music Academy of the West in 2008 and 2011, and at the Tanglewood Music Center in 2010 and 2012. As a soloist, she has performed with the Music Academy of the West Festival Orchestra, Juilliard Orchestra, and New Juilliard Ensemble.
Ms. Norcross has given numerous solo recitals in New York City, Boston, and Taipei, often incorporating works for the lesser known Wagner tuba and natural horn.
