I usually listen to the music that is coming up on our Subscription Weeks, and otherwise I listen to everything from Paul Simon and Prokofiev, to The Wiggles and “angry woman music” like Fiona Apple.

How I chose my instrument:
When I was in the 3rd grade, string classes were offered at my school, and I signed up for violin. I thought it was the instrument with the most beautiful sound.

My earliest musical memory is:
When I was about nine years old my dad took me to our local college to see a virtuoso violinist. I remember she was small, Japanese, and played the Flight of the Bumblebee so fast that I had never heard or seen anything like it. My dad fell asleep, but I watched the whole concert. In college I was asked this same question, and found the old program. It was Midori.

Other than music, I’ve always thought it would be fun to be a:
This is the truth – I’ve never considered anything other than a life in music. I don’t know of any other job you could describe as “fun.”

My favorite composer is:
Prokofiev

My favorite San Antonio restaurant is:
Fralo’s – but it’s in Leon Springs. Best pizza anywhere, and beautiful outside seating!

My favorite TV show is:
Lately I’ve been watching The Office, and laughing out loud.
